Cellar Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

The Cellar Specialist supports CCBC in helping people navigate the beautiful & complex world of beer by executing at a high level of quality and contributing to a culture of safety as part of the Southern Mill Cellar Team.

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

  1. Developing foundational knowledge of key cellar tasks:
    • Gravities, tank actions, crash times.
      • Recording brand data and tank status.
      • Pulling sample from FV.
      • Prepping sample for Anton Parr 4500.
      • Verifying stability.
      • Prepping and clearing VDK samples.
      • Changing temp on glycol control panel for tank actions/crashing beers
    • Carbing and releasing beers for packaging.
      • Performing carbonation readings with IDGM.
      • Recording carbonation readings on tank hanger
    • DH, fruit and adjunt additions.
      • Selecting correct hop type, varietal, and weight for DH additions.
      • Purging hop cannon.
      • Breakdown of hop cannon post DH.
      • Purging recirc pump.
      • Setting up recirc and documenting recirc start and end times.
      • Understanding of sanitary fruit addition.
      • Recording all raw ingredients into data app
    • Yeast handling
      • Harvesting into kegs/brink.
      • Taking sample for quality analysis.
      • Weighing kegs and label appropriately.
      • Performing yeast entry in app.
      • Updating white board with yeast info
    • CIP, CIP skid, chemicals and titrations
      • Set up and break down of all vessels.
      • Understanding of all CIP cycles and SOP’s.
      • Understanding of chemicals and titrations.
      • Filling out tank hanger and white board to record CIP status

    • The Cellar Specialist must maintain a flexible mindset during production changes, whether the changes are foreseen or made with short notice.

Warehouse Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE

The Warehouse Assistant supports CCBC in helping people navigate the beautiful & complex world of beer by executing at a high level of quality and contributing to a culture of safety as part of the Warehouse Team.

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

  • Walk/inspect warehouse area and cooler every morning and afternoon.
    • Check for any potential safety hazards and address them and notify a manager immediately of any hazards.
  • Inspect power equipment (e.g., electric forklifts) every morning before operating and check off the checklist located on each piece of power equipment. (Check for damage, leaking fluids, wear and battery level.) Notify warehouse manager or maintenance of any issues.
  • Get appropriate packing list for that day and begin staging product that is destined to ship out that morning.
  • Load and unload distribution trucks in a timely manner each morning. This will range from 1-2 trucks each morning depending on the season.
  • Organize and optimize cooler space using proper “FIFO” (First In, First Out) standards after each distribution truck has been loaded.
  • Occasionally assist with the unloading of raw materials (empty cans, cartons, and various other raw materials) and verify the shipment is correct with the warehouse manager.
    • Check packing lists, verify lot #’s and write lot #’s on product in large marker all while practicing “FIFO” standards.
  • Move received goods after they have been checked in to their proper locations and notify appropriate departments.
  • After trucks are loaded and cooler has been reorganized practice good housekeeping measures before leaving for the day. (e.g., Sweeping, dusting and general organization of warehouse.)

TAPROOM ASSISTANT MANAGER

Accounting Intern

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The Creature Comforts Accounting Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and work on several different areas of accounting within the company. The Accounting Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Controller and will work closely with the Staff Accountant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with weekly tasting room inventory depletions and revenue journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals.
  • Assist with month-end close to ensure deadlines are met and presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly physical inventory counts and research variances as necessary.
  • Assist with financial reporting including balance sheet and income statement analysis.
  • Support management on strategic and tactical special projects as they arise.
  • All other duties assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION + SKILLS

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Studies in the areas of Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proper treatment of confidential company information.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Weekly Schedule: Approximately 20 hour per week. Specific work schedules will depend on the student’s school schedule.
  • Start Date: Target start for the Accounting Internship is Fall of 2021 and will continue until Spring of 2022.
  • This is a paid internship.

Accounts Payable Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

To oversee the AP and AR processes to ensure CCBC is in a financial position to support its mission to be a great and growing company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable Process to ensure all vendor invoices are received and reviewed prior to being input into Orchestrated Beer (ERP).
  • Process weekly payment runs and any one off payments as requested.
  • Prepare journal entries as necessary.
  • Prepare weekly vendor aging reports and follow up on any past due invoices.
  • Prepare all Purchase Orders in accordance with Creature Comforts control procedures.
  • Generate distributor A/R invoices for all shipments.
  • Manage all distributor billbacks and work closely with Marketing to ensure billbacks are processed timely and accurately.
  • Process daily cash receipts and apply to appropriate invoices.
  • Process monthly vendor statements and follow up on any outstanding balances.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Participate in year-end audit by preparing work papers and preparing selections.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Experience with SAP or other accounting software a plus.
  • Strong level of organization and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proper treatment of sensitive and confidential company information.
