POSITION PURPOSE
To assist in the general accounting of CCBC and put Creature Comforts in a financial position to support its strategy – to be a great and growing company.
ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES
1. Accounting Records & Financial Statements
- Assist with month-end close to ensure deadlines are met and presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare monthly journal entries and general ledger balance sheet reconciliations. Investigate variances as necessary.
- Perform monthly physical inventory counts and research variances as necessary including the preparation of inventory count sheets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to automate and improve efficiency for the Accounting Department. Ensure that CCBC policies and controls are followed and enforced.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as necessary.
- Support external financial audits and end-of-year tax preparation.
2. Strategic Partnership
- Prepare departmental financial analysis on a monthly basis and send out by 15th of each month.
- Assist in preparation of executive financial reporting package.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to management and other departments as requested.
- Prepare and update forecasts for the current year and assist in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software – intermediate Excel skills are required and advanced Excel skills a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research variances and trends
- Ability to learn new software quickly. (Orchestrated Beer)
- Strong level of organization and oral and written communication/presentation skills
- Experience with SAP or other accounting software a plus
- Proper treatment of sensitive and confidential company information
