POSITION PURPOSE

The Packaging Manager helps people navigate the beautiful and complex world of beer through the direction and strategy of Creature Comfort Brewing Company’s packaging department and staff.

 

 

PACKAGING MANAGER PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES

Increase overall packaging efficiency from 84% – 90% by Dec. 31st, 2021.

  • Researches, recommends and manages the implementation of improvements and investments for packaging processes, such as
      • consistent and repeatable line start-up
      • run and breakdown processes resulting in reducing beer and raw materials loss, etc.

Reduce Packaging Co2 usage by 2lbs before year end.

  • Develops an expert level of knowledge of Brite beer and packaging equipment, including their maintenance, sanitation and related processes.
  • Increase batch yields 2% by Dec 31st, 2021.
  • Manages available budgetary resources assigned to Packaging Department.
  • Researches, recommends and manages sourcing, installation and utilization of equipment upgrades.

Reduce material loss 2% by Dec 31st, 2021.

Fully cross-trained packaging staff by Dec. 31st, 2021.

  • Manages and keeps employees motivated for multiple shifts and locations with changing seasonal demands and package types.

Develop/Revise five SOP’s/PM’s monthly.

  • Maintains SOPs and reports statistics.
  • Adheres to and enforces all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding health and safety.
  • Discuss new leadership tools with your team weekly.
  • Leads the hiring, training and performance planning/evaluation for Packaging Department.
  • Review new leadership tools, allowing for collaborative conversations.
  • Reduce Packaging related QA complaints 5% by Dec. 31st, 2021.
  • Manages, supports and achieves CCBC’s objectives by meeting production deadlines for quality packaged beer with efficient order fulfillment and minimal downtime.
  • Ensures that all finished goods meet quality control parameters, including but not limited to
    • flavor profiles
    • TPO/Carb levels
    • seam/package integrity

Reduce in-house related “QA HOLD” 20% by Dec. 31st, 2021.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Cellar Manager helps people navigate the beautiful and complex world of beer through safely and joyfully delivering brite beer at the highest-level quality and efficiency.

CELLAR MANAGER PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES

Cellar Team Leadership Development

  • Complete GIANT leadership voices assessment by Aug 2021
  • Review SM Cellar team GIANT voice assessments by Sept 2021
  • Complete skills gap analysis within SM Cellar department by Oct 2021
  • Ensure all direct reports are 100% supported and challenged to accomplish the goals within the SM cellar department.

Production Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop skillset to translate the beer production schedule into a Cellar task list by Aug 2021.
  • Communicate all schedule changes
  • Optimize cellar schedule daily
  • Complete staffing and yeast schedule
  • Create or update three CBD recipes each month for all brands produced at SM
  • Create or update three SOP’s each month for SM cellar actions.

PACKAGING SPECIALIST I

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

Team Collaboration:

  • The Packaging Specialist will work in collaboration with the Packaging Team on day-to-day activities, operations, & problem solving.

Contributor to Culture:

  • Culture of Safety: The Packaging Specialist must be competent in CCBC’s Safety Policies & must advocate a culture of safety by following safety policies and encouraging his peers to remain complaint with CCBC safety policies.
  • Solutions-Oriented Positivity: Maintains & promotes a positive outlook for the rest of the Packaging Team.
  • Culture of Self-Development & Leadership: The Packaging Specialist participates in and completes leadership development training assigned to the Packaging Team. They must build and maintain proficiencies in using the CCBC’s leadership program tools, concepts, & vocabulary.

PACKAGING SPECIALIST II

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

Mechanical-focused Responsibilities

  • The Packaging Specialist must operate, change over, and maintain packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoots by utilizing technical-focused deductive reasoning skills, with the purpose of discussing & identifying results for, and performing minor repairs and/or improvements on production equipment.
  • The Packaging Specialist must run a full CIP/SIP on related equipment
  • Participates and collaborates with team leaders and peers in problem solving activities to determine root cause and close the loop on issues.
  • Capable of performing packaging operator and maintenance functions taking a hands-on approach whenever necessary
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems associated with high-speed packaging equipment

POSITION PURPOSE

The Maintenance Manager helps people navigate the beautiful and complex
world of beer by being responsible for the direction and strategy of our
maintenance department, and staff.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER OUTCOMES

Reduce downtime in each production department by 5% before Dec 31st 2021.

  • Mitigate Downtime with Impactful Methods & Procedures:
    • Initiates, implements, and monitors brewery safety, energy and environmental initiatives (
    • Develops new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce operating costs, i.e., proposes efficiencies for planned and unplanned downtime and breakdowns.
    • Review and access major downtime for the week, monitoring/updating our Continuous Improvement log
  • Cross- Functional Collaboration:
    • Review cross departmental needs related to improving mechanical efficiencies and reducing brewery wide expenditures by enhancing employee skills (Cross Training)
    • Collaborate with department managers on scheduling downtime for preventative maintenance.

  • Cross- Functional Collaboration:

  • Expense Management:
    • Monitors execution of work orders and parts management process
    • Monitors monthly budget and provide feedback on cost savings initiatives.
    • Work in collaboration with the Business Operations team tracking against monthly expenses vs budget.
    • Requesting and Approving necessary PO’s for CAP Ex or the creation of new roles on the team.
  • Project Cost Tracking:
    • Orders and tracks material/equipment purchased ensuring deliveries are on time.
    • Meet with venders and evaluate quotes for production improvements .
    • Make recommendations by reviewing past expense reports and data collection.
    • Serves as point person for contract services associated with brewery utilities, i.e., Georgia Power, Georgia Natural Gas, Oconee Waste, Athena Water Business

Ensures the maintenance staff completes 100% of their monthly leadership training.

  • Developing Leaders:
    • Spend time in your meetings asking clarifying questions and guiding your staff through difficult conversations.
    • Set clear expectations for your team encouraging them to achieve greatness.
    • Create follow up meetings ensuring employee engagement for collaborative conversations.
  • Self Leadership:
    • Take pride in your own development by setting goals and tracking your progress.
    • Know your tendencies by participating in Gaint leadership classes and utilizing the tools discussed in team meetings.
    • Lead with empathy, take the time to truly listen to your staff, providing feedback and coaching opportunities as a manager.
