Cellar Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

The Cellar Specialist supports CCBC in helping people navigate the beautiful & complex world of beer by executing at a high level of quality and contributing to a culture of safety as part of the Southern Mill Cellar Team.

ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

  1. Developing foundational knowledge of key cellar tasks:
    • Gravities, tank actions, crash times.
      • Recording brand data and tank status.
      • Pulling sample from FV.
      • Prepping sample for Anton Parr 4500.
      • Verifying stability.
      • Prepping and clearing VDK samples.
      • Changing temp on glycol control panel for tank actions/crashing beers
    • Carbing and releasing beers for packaging.
      • Performing carbonation readings with IDGM.
      • Recording carbonation readings on tank hanger
    • DH, fruit and adjunt additions.
      • Selecting correct hop type, varietal, and weight for DH additions.
      • Purging hop cannon.
      • Breakdown of hop cannon post DH.
      • Purging recirc pump.
      • Setting up recirc and documenting recirc start and end times.
      • Understanding of sanitary fruit addition.
      • Recording all raw ingredients into data app
    • Yeast handling
      • Harvesting into kegs/brink.
      • Taking sample for quality analysis.
      • Weighing kegs and label appropriately.
      • Performing yeast entry in app.
      • Updating white board with yeast info
    • CIP, CIP skid, chemicals and titrations
      • Set up and break down of all vessels.
      • Understanding of all CIP cycles and SOP’s.
      • Understanding of chemicals and titrations.
      • Filling out tank hanger and white board to record CIP status

      • Leadership Development: They must build and maintain proficiencies in using the CCBC’s leadership program tools, concepts, & vocabulary.

    • Learn, understand, and maintain quality cellar initiatives.
    • Learn and maintain competency in safety policies, procedures, & regulations.
    • Explore, connect, & learn about the Craft Beer Industry.
    • Attend and learn about quality in craft beer through sensory class.
    • Develop technical aptitude on CCBC equipment.
  2. Task Excellence & Efficiency:
    • Must be able to work a later shift, if needed (2:00- 10:00 pm).
    • Perform at a level of excellence with a focus on timeliness and process efficiency.
    • Must establish and maintain a basic understanding of timely communication tools such as e-mail & the company communication application, Slack.
    • The Cellar Specialist must maintain a flexible mindset during production changes, whether the changes are foreseen or made with short notice.
    • Report to their shift on time and follow company clock-punch policies & procedures.

Taproom Assistant Manager

TAPROOM ASSISTANT MANAGER  

ACTIVITIES & OUTPUTS 

Leadership & Communication 

  • Leads and attends to the taproom staff while the Assistant Manager is on-duty during their assigned shift.  
  • Effectively communicate expectations and updates to taproom staff during each assigned shift.  
  • Managing the taproom staff on duty with an focus on maintaining a positive and motivating work environment. 
  • Participates in the weekly Assistant Manager meetings.  
  • Constructively & appropriately delivers taproom staff feedback and concerns to management.

Taproom Process & Quality Assurance 

  • Effectively manage, coordinate, & plan private and special events.

  • Maintaining and enforcing quality and customer service standards to the taproom staff.

Accounts Payable Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

To oversee the AP and AR processes to ensure CCBC is in a financial position to support its mission to be a great and growing company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable Process to ensure all vendor invoices are received and reviewed prior to being input into Orchestrated Beer (ERP).
  • Process weekly payment runs and any one off payments as requested.
  • Prepare journal entries as necessary.
  • Prepare weekly vendor aging reports and follow up on any past due invoices.
  • Prepare all Purchase Orders in accordance with Creature Comforts control procedures.
  • Generate distributor A/R invoices for all shipments.
  • Manage all distributor billbacks and work closely with Marketing to ensure billbacks are processed timely and accurately.
  • Process daily cash receipts and apply to appropriate invoices.
  • Process monthly vendor statements and follow up on any outstanding balances.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Participate in year-end audit by preparing work papers and preparing selections.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Experience with SAP or other accounting software a plus.
  • Strong level of organization and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proper treatment of sensitive and confidential company information.

Our Leadership Team is seeking an experienced partner, highly motivated, and creative-minded individual who wants to elevate our brand with world class marketing. This is a senior level role at Creature Comforts, and a highly cross-functional role that will assist in both large and small scope projects across all aspects of Marketing: Brand Marketing, Field Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Communications, and more.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating a strategic Annual Marketing Plan including timeline, budget, deliverables
  • Overseeing the execution of the Marketing Plan for a large portfolio of products
  • Providing monthly guidance, execution and reporting against the Marketing Plan to the Operating Committee
  • This role will be responsible for consumer and field marketing planning and execution
  • Creating a measuring system to determine the success of all marketing initiatives
  • Working with internal teams to develop consumer insights that inform the Marketing Plan, and testing the effectiveness of marketing initiatives
  • Creation and execution of in-market and on-site marketing events
  • Oversight of the public relations team to ensure coordinated efforts of campaign and managing media contacts
  • Developing and overseeing written briefs for agencies and suppliers (creative, advertising, packaging, consumer promotions, merchandising, etc.) to direct their work and to generate concepts for effective execution of marketing plans
  • Acting as subject matter expert to protect Creature Comforts’ trademarks and company rights to all POS, packaging, branding, etc.
  • Working closely with the production, on-site Tasting Room, and commercial sales teams to execute new product launches
  • Management of all Consumer Marketing Programs (including all social media and website management)
  • This role will have people management responsibilities

Ideal Work Experience: What do we expect that you have ideally done before?

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, preferably with a blend of large scale corporate experience and start-up experience.
  • Familiarity within the adult beverage industry, yet also experience outside of our industry
  • Developed brand strategy and application across channel, including local and regional marketing
  • Created and tracked against key consumption occasions, shopper messaging, and methods of activation
  • Developed truly challenging and stretch goals, and driving execution to achieve those goals
  • Past working relationships with Brand/Creative/Digital Agencies
  • Experience in negotiating agreements with venues, media outlets, distributors, sports teams, etc.
  • Ability to develop tools to support the gathering and analyzing of consumer information
  • Capable of crafting compelling fact-based stories, preparing presentation, delivering content to a vast array of audiences
