Moke is a golden straw color with a persistent yet refined protein haze. The aroma smells of bright cantaloupe, sauvignon blanc, subtle strawberry, boysenberry skin, earthy funkiness, nectarine, orange pulp, and honeysuckle. While many of these notes are familiar, the flavor profiles from the New Zealand hops (Nelson Sauvin and Kohatu) still somehow express themselves differrently. On the palate, the notes apparent in the aroma carry through, starting with a somewhat sweet first impression that ends in dryness This overall flow gives the beer a nice, succinct structure that makes it a very drinkable pale ale.
