Spring Seasonal: Cosmik Debris

Most of you have probably heard, but we are excited to bring back our seasonal release Cosmik Debris this month. For the first time, we will be canning the beer, which makes this our second seasonal offering to be packaged for release!

“Cosmik Debris is a modern take on a double IPA that features more than 5 and a half pounds of hops per barrel,” says Co-Founder & Brewmaster, Adam Beauchamp, “The beer is released in March because the freshest and most choice hops are made available to brewers typically around February.”

This year, Cosmik Debris features Simcoe, Eureka, Idaho 7, Mosaic, and Cascade hops, which together develop an assertive hop aroma of melon, citrus zest, and subtle pine. The beer delivers a beautiful balance between firm bitterness and malt with notes of starfruit and orange marmalade on the palate.

We have kept the malt bill very simple and restrained in order to allow the intense flavor & aroma of the beautiful Pacific-Northwestern hops to shine through, while making a few tweaks to the recipe and process to encourage a bursting aroma.  And we have introduced the new hop Idaho 7 into the mix, which adds a very unique, ripe, & tropical fruit flavor that we think you will love and enjoy!

And once again, we collaborated with a local artist to design the can label which resulted in a can design with a galactic scene featuring mystical “hop creatures”!

And be advised, as our Brewmaster Adam Beauchamp reminds us: “Cosmik should always be consumed as fresh as possible.  Allowing it to age would dissipate the brilliant, fresh aroma that we’ve worked to infuse into the beer,” so be sure to get it in the Tasting Room and in our Athens & Atlanta markets while it’s fresh!

Cheers!
